Phyllis M. Lewis, 84, formerly of Wauseon, passed away August 15, 2021 at The Toledo Hospital. Phyllis was born August 16, 1936 in Toledo to Ellsworth and Celia (Kiel) Sellers.

She was a 1955 graduate of Woodward High School. Phyllis married her best friend, Carl Lewis, on August 11, 1956 and together they raised two daughters. Her passion in life was her family and dog, Cody. Phyllis and Carl would take their girls on many vacations, renting a cottage in Michigan, and camping out West. As empty nesters' they found their love for traveling along the East Coast. Phyllis treasured the time and memories she made with her family the most.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lynn Deffendall and Susan (Paul) Ganzel; grandchildren, Luke (Robin), Jacob, Zachary, Travis; great-grandchildren, Nick, Logan, Elayna and Noah; and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 63 years, Carl Lewis; and sister, Lois Taylor.

The family will receive guests Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-473-0300).

Memorial contributions may be made to the animal rescue center of your choice in Phyllis's memory.
