Philomena "Phyllis" Antoinette White, age 92, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away and went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2023, at Kingston Care Center of Sylvania. Phyllis was born on June 13, 1930, in Allison, Pennsylvania, to the late Frank and Rose (Stanza) Burrell.
Phyllis was a hard and dedicated worker her entire life. Whether it was taking care of the home and her children to working at the restaurants, she gave it her all no matter what it was. She worked at Harold's Bar and Grille and later Happy Hour Saloon, where she was known for making the best burgers. With her love for cooking came delicious food that her family and friends would always ask about. Phyllis made one of a kind carrot cake, banana bread, and of course being Italian, spaghetti, cabbage rolls, and Italian sausage. She enjoyed her fair share of shows such as Criminal Minds, Chicago PD, and the Game Show Network. She also had a love for country music, especially Rodney Atkins, who she thought of as her son. Most of all, Phyllis loved and adored her family. Family was most important, especially her grandchildren. She loved being a mom and a grandma. Phyllis always put her family first and made sure they were fed and taken care of. She was always there to give advice, support, and most of all, love. Her love, smile, outspoken personality, and cooking will forever be missed by those who knew her. This isn't goodbye, but we will see you later…
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Robin White, Denise White, Karla White, Terri Finn and Mike Finn; grandchildren, Matthew White and Michaela Finn (Matthew Ley); sisters, Delores (Al) Jenko and Frances McCormick; brother-in-laws, Morgan (Joyce) McCormick and Cassimer Rygwelski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was also preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Rygwelski; and former husband, Charles White.
Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 2:00 pm until the time of the funeral at 7:00 pm.
