Peter J. Schumacher, Sr.

Peter J. Schumacher, 77, of Toledo, Ohio, died Sunday April 6th. He was born August 27th, 1936 to the late Josef and Emma Schumacher in Zurich, Switzerland.

Peter received a Bachelor Degree of Industrial Management from UT. He married Donella in 1964 and they lived together in Toledo. Peter worked 33 years for Dana Corp. retiring in 1994. Peter was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and The Toledo Men's Swiss Society. He was a 33degree Mason and belonged to the Ft. Industry Lodge of the Shriners and a member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church.

Peter is survived by his wife, Donella of 50 years; two children; Peter Schumacher, Jr. (partner, Marjorie Miller) of Mesa, AZ and Michael Schumacher (wife, Mary Jo) of Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters, Ursula Kaiser-Schumacher of Switzerland and Elisabeth Luginbuhl-Schumacher of Switzerland and two grandchildren, Samantha and Sabrina.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 3-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (419-473-0300). Masonic Services will be performed by the Toledo Ft. Industry #144 Lodge at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home followed by military services.

Friends are also invited to join the family for a Memorial Service on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3934 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo, Ohio 43623.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children – Cincinnati, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229.
