Penny A. Girrell, age 60, of Sylvania, passed away June 28, 2016. She was born on September 7, 1955 to Richard and Charlotte (Mulinix) Rawlings in Toledo. Penny worked at Jeep for over 30 years before retiring. She loved to read her Bible, to cook and spend time with her family.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy (Schermerhorn) Brown. Penny is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Ed Girrell; son, Chad Schermerhorn; grandchildren, Sierra Schermerhorn, Mariah Washington, Alex Washington, Rhianna Schermerhorn and Lillian Schermerhorn; great-granddaughters, Halo Washington and Milica Lucic; mother, Charlotte Hooks; siblings, Diann (Kenneth) Meadows, Kathy Jividen, Richard Rawlings, Kim Dittman, Brad Rawlings, Cindy Collins and Rodney (Kim) Pickett; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
