Peggy Daugherty

September 21, 1947 — March 29, 2022

"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." A.A. Milne
On March 29, 2022, Peggy (Monday) Daugherty, surrounded by her family slipped peacefully from this life after a brief illness. Peggy was born on September 21, 1947 to Kelcy and LeeAnne (Davis) Monday in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Start High School in 1965 and pursued a Bachelor's Degree in English and Social Studies from The University of Toledo, graduating in 1969.

On June 8, 1968, Peggy married the love of her life, Jack Daugherty. Together they enjoyed cooking, summers spent with family on Long Lake and doting on their fur babies. Peggy began an extensive career in Payroll in 1970 with Owens Illinois in Toledo, Ohio as a payroll specialist. From there, Peggy and Jack relocated when she accepted a position as a Payroll Coordinator at Lily Tulip in Augusta, GA. After 16 years, she accepted a position with Fort Howard Corp in Green Bay, WI, serving as a payroll manager. Peggy and Jack returned to the Ann Arbor area in 1988 when she accepted a position at ADP as a Quality Assurance Specialist. Peggy worked her way from a QA Specialist to a Training Consultant, Supervisor of Quality Assurance and Documentation and ending her career as a Manager of Business Services in December 2012. Her reviews spoke of her dedication to her job, her team and her company.

We would be remiss if we didn't mention Peggy's absolute love and adoration of animals, specifically german shepherds and cats. Peggy and Jack spoiled their animals with unconditional love, toys and treats. Sammy 1, Sammy 2, Sammy 3, Sammy 4 and Delilah were probably the first to greet their mom in Heaven.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Kelcy and LeeAnne Monday, her beloved husband Jack, her sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Arnold Retzlaff and her brother and sister in law Dale and Wilma Monday and her beautiful pets. Left to cherish her memory are her sister in law Jeanne Jacobs and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, great great nephews and great great nieces along with Sammy #5 and Miggy. The family would like to extend sincere and heartfelt appreciation, gratitude and love to Farrah for her friendship, love and care for Aunt Peggy for the last few years and to Arbor Hospice of Ann Arbor for their love and care.

Family and Friends may visit Newcomer Funeral Home Northwest Chapel 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, OH 43623 on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 9:00-12:00, where services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place Ottawa Hills Cemetery in Toledo, OH.
