Pearlie Lee Wilson, age 93, of Swanton, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 10, 2014 at home. She was born on June 17, 1920 to Nunnie and Ida (Shipp) Belt in Columbus, Georgia. Pearlie was a homemaker and always taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking and telling jokes. Pearlie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pearlie is survived by her loving daughter, L. Frances Brown-Johnson; grandsons, Herbert L. Brown, II and Gordon F. (Jill) Brown; great-grandchildren, Gordon, William, L. Frances, Samson, Hunter, Tiera, Isaiah and Elena; special nephew, Ricky; and many other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Wilson; sisters, Annie Laura Smith and Lula Mae Belt; nephew, Manta Smith, Jr.; special great-nephew, Eric L. Hall; and great-nephew, Bobby Beverly, Jr.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
