Pauline Smiddy-Smith, age 77, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2007 in her home. She was born July 27, 1929 to James and Sarah (Sharp) Spradlin in Lafollette, Tennessee. Pauline was a proud wife, mother and grandmother, cherishing the time she spent with her family. She was also an avid gardener, tending to her more than 90 rose bushes with care and pride. Pauline also enjoyed sewing and canning for her family.
Pauline was a former member of Duff Baptist Church of Duff, TN and also Free Will Baptist Church of Toledo.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her first husband of 44 years, Paul Smiddy and 3 sisters and 7 brothers. She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Mack Smith, Jr.; daughters, Paula Goad and Dianna (Jim) Best; son, David Smiddy, Sr.; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Shofner of Fairborn, OH and Betty Leach of Speedwell, TN; stepchildren, Donald (Patricia) Smith; David (Rebecca) Smith; Debra Long; Diane (Bill) Lemay and Dennis (Annie) Smith and a host of nieces, nephews and step grand and great grandchildren and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Sunday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (418-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be her nephew, Pastor Roger Leach. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania.
