Paula Shaffer

Paula Jean (Moehlman) Shaffer, 53, of Toledo, Oh. passed away at home July 31, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Norwalk, Oh. January 29, 1959 to the late John and Bette (Cheatham) Moehlman.
Paula graduated from St. Paul High School in Norwalk in 1977. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Toledo in 1981, followed by her Master of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Ohio in 1998.
She began her nursing career at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville, TN. in 1981. She returned to Toledo and began a 25 yr. career at The Medical College of OH, advancing to Nursing Director of the 5th Floor. She was greatly admired and respected by her colleagues and friends.
Paula was an avid reader. After retirement, she tutored high school students. Her family fulfilled her life.
In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by her great-nephew, Jonah Jaudzems and her dear friend Jan Cousino. Survivors include her husband of 27 yrs., Richard; daughter, Kate; sisters, Pamela Moehlman (Albert Smith) and Patricia (Glenn) Tinker; brother
Jeffrey (Jodi) Moehlman; nieces Gwen (William) Colyer, Holly (Greg) Jaudzems, and Leah Moehlman; nephews Matthew Fisher, Robert (Jennifer) Fisher, Joshua Tinker, Tyler (Hannah) and Barrett Moehlman; great-nieces and nephews Emily, Ethan and Aiden Fisher and her "special babies" Will and Ben Colyer.
A celebration of Paula's life will be held at a later date.
