"Grandpa Paul"
Paul E. Sprague, age 88 of Toledo passed away Tuesday, July 27th, 2004 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 20, 1916 to Jet and Fern (Vermillion) Sprague in Lima, Ohio. Paul was employed as a Supervisor with Standard oil for 35 years, retiring in 1980. Paul enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family. He was a long time parishioner of Christ the King Church and a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. Paul was a loving husband, dad and grandfather. He was a generous, kind and loving man and was dearly loved by his family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Floyd Sprague and sister, Donna Selby. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Sarah (Saitta) Sprague; son, Tim (Lynn) Sprague; brother, Richard Sprague; 8 stepchildren, Leo (Diane) Vossen; Bob (Darlene) Vossen; Tom (Jamie) Vossen; Ron (Kathleen) Lukasik; Gary (Marla) Lukasik; Leona (Terry) LaMontagne; Sarah (Richard) Fletcher and Marilyn (Randy) Howell; 27 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
The family will receive guests Thursday from 2-9:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane. A Scripture Service will begin Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Officiating will be Fr. Mike Brown. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to the church or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Arrangements handled by Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300).
