Paul Levon Booher, age 86, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo with his daughters by his side. He was born on July 21, 1929 to Glenn and Lillie (Burd) Booher in Toledo. He married Mary Jane Box on June 24, 1949 in Grand Rapids, Ohio. After 61 years of marriage, she passed away on March 28, 2011.
Paul graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1947 and from the University of Toledo in 1967 with a degree in Accounting. He retired from Webster Manufacturing in Tiffin, Ohio. Paul was a 55 year member of the Masonic Temple Harbor Lights Lodge. He loved golfing, genealogy, history and spending time with his family. Paul always liked learning or doing something new. He learned to oil paint in his late sixties, both landscapes and portraits; he spent his 84th birthday in a hot air balloon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Paul is survived by his end of life partner, Nellie Robertson; daughters, Janice (Dr. Robert) McClung, of Tiffin and Ann Dolch, of Maumee; sons, Bradley, of Columbus and Edward, of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Sean (Andrea), Nathan (Jessica), Michael (Daniella), Chris (Jessica), Mary, Justin, Tyler (Jen), Michael and Joshua; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Janet) Booher; and nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with a Celebration of Life beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Private Burial will be held at a later date in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Grand Rapids, OH.
