Paul Hudson, Sr., age 75, a longtime resident of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born September 29, 1946 in Lakeland, FL to Mr. & Mrs. Watson and Oretha Hudson. Paul was a graduate of Scott High School and went on to receive his Bachelors Degree from the University of Toledo. Paul was a Controller with Sun Oil retiring in 2011 after 48 years of service.
He was a kind man with a quiet disposition. Paul may not have talked much, but when he did, it was an important or enjoyable conversation. Family was important to him, so the time spent with those he loved became special memories filled with laughter and smiles.
Paul loved sports playing football, basketball and baseball on several Adult Leagues over the years. He considered himself an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Browns, if there was a game on, he was watching every play. He also enjoyed golf at a leisurely pace with his wife and friends. When Paul wasn't involved with sports, he took to the computer to play some challenging gaming activities. One of Paul's favorite activities when the weather allowed it, he could be found spending some "lazy days" in his backyard pool, enjoying the company and the surroundings.
In addition to his parents, Watson & Oretha (Wade) Hudson, he was also preceded in death by his son, Paul, Jr.; sisters, Shirley "Sis" & Toni and brother, James, Sr.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Mary C. Hudson; children, Anthony and Jill; stepchildren, Mandi (Rob), Joshua (Bobbi) and Jeremy (Amanda); grandchildren, Jarrett, Drew, Dakotta, Damien Jr, Tatum, Cameron, Maliek, Logan, Mila and Aubrey; sister, Krystal and in-laws, Dennis (Shirley), Karen (Gary), Shari (Red), Wayne (Deb) and Randy (Lynn).
The family will receive guests Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 2:00 - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900).
