Paul Joseph Cuprys

Paul Joseph Cuprys age 86 of Toledo, Ohio passed away April 2, 2025 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania. He was born in Toledo on September 29, 1938 to Ignatius and Mary (Kowalski) Cuprys. Paul graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1956. He was employed at the Custer Beer Company in Monroe, MI for 30 years.

Paul loved spending time at his cottage on Round Lake, fishing and cruising around on his pontoon boat. He looked forward to traveling to Florida with his good friends, Lee and Park. Paul would often reminisce about the great old restaurants in Toledo such as The Garden Inn, Alfies, the Northwood Inn and Mancy’s. In later years, he became the “cat man”, rescuing and caring for all the stray cats in his west Toledo neighborhood.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Diana Cuprys, Mary Ann (Mel) Roberts, Laurie Bick, Jodi (Gene) Kujawa, James Cuprys, Cris Lewandowski, Todd (Robin) Cuprys; nephew, Scott (Kathryn) Aldrich and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Eva Cuprys; sister, JoAnn Nichols; niece, Cindy (Steve) Jamgochian; brothers, John Cuprys, Scott Cuprys and brother in-law, Mike Lewandowski.

Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel 4150 W. Laskey Rd. Toledo on Thursday. April 17, 2025 from 4:00-6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider your favorite animal shelter or Humane Ohio.
