Paul R. Bly, age 81, of Toledo, passed away Friday, June 22, 2007 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 11, 1925 to Dewey and Georgia (Harison) Bly in West Unity, Ohio. Paul was a previous resident of San Jose, California for 30 years before moving back to Toledo in 1990. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy for 6 years and the U.S. Army for 14 years proudly serving our country in WWII and Korea. Paul had also been a retail manager for 25 years until retiring. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Bly. Paul is survived by his loving companion of 17 years: Priscilla Bardwell; step-children: Kathryn Macaluso, G. Michael Bardwell, Carol (Martin) Overmyer and Kenneth Bardwell; 4 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; sister: Laura Collum; brother: George (Ruth) Bly; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Monday, June 25, 2007 in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., (419-473-0300) from 3 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
