Patrick Michael Malkowski, age 75, of Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully at Aspen Grove, Lambertville, MI on Tuesday, March 19'th 2024. Patrick was born in Toledo, OH on St. Patrick's Day in 1949 to Genevieve (Ratkiewicz) and Henry Malkowski.
Patrick began schooling at Regina Coeli grade school, then graduated in the '67 class at Roy C. Start High School. After High School Patrick enlisted in The United States Air Force during the Vietnam War Era. Patrick was stationed at Travis Air Force Base in California before hopping on a C130 to Thailand where he would work as Mechanic Crew Chief, working on the O-2A and OV-10 Aircrafts.
Upon Honorable discharge in 1972 Patrick returned home to Toledo before heading to Detroit to work for Chrysler. Patrick would graduate from Davis College (Business) and The University of Toledo (Engineering). In the mid '80's Patrick was employed as a mechanical engineer at Teledyne in Toledo. While there Patrick designed turbine engines in Auto Cad before building them with his own hands. After being laid off during the 90's recession Patrick would become self-employed in the bar and restaurant industry (Salad Galley, Eggs and Legs, Green Rooster, and the Roadhouse in Downtown Toledo). Patrick would retire from The Chrysler Machining plant in Perrysburg, OH in 2008.
Patrick is survived by his daughter, Jamie (Abe) DeWood; Son, Brian Patrick Malkowski; Grandchildren, Jaden (Trevor) Hartbarger, Gavin DeWood, Liam Trinh, Holden DeWood. Brothers, David Malkowski, Kenneth (Jackie) Malkowski, sister Deborah (John) Farrell and numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his mother, "Jenny" and his ex-wife Bonnie Wisher.
Per the Request of Patrick, there will be a private visitation for immediate family and the Obituary will be released by Newcomer of Toledo and shared to the InterWeb.
