Patrick Hendricks

Patrick R. Hendricks, age 75, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 8th, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 14th, 1937 to Margaret R. (Muranyi) and Joseph G. Hendricks, Sr. in Toledo, Ohio. Patrick was a plumber and carpenter working at The Toledo Hospital for 39 years. He was also a graduate of Waite High School, Class of 1955. Patrick loved to travel and felt fortunate to go on many cruises in his lifetime. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying camping and fishing. Patrick was also an Ohio State Buckeye fan, following them from season to season. Staying fit was a strong focus for Pat and he always made time for exercise whether it was getting on a treadmill or lifting weights. Being born to Hungarian parents, he was proud of his heritage and was known for his love of cooking not only Hungarian favorites but all kinds of foods. Most importantly, Patrick was a proud grandfather cherishing the time he spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Hendricks, Jr. Patrick is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Vickie Hendricks whom he married January 9th, 1976; sons, Kevin (Jammie) Hendricks of Delta, OH, Patrick "Ron" (Krista) Hendricks, II of Swanton, OH and Ryan (Lisa) Hendricks, of Swanton, OH; brother, Emery "Jim" (Mary) Hendricks of Oregon, OH and sister, Patricia (Louis) Torda of Toledo. Patrick was also a proud grandfather of Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Lindsey, Allyson, Jayden, Landon and Paityn who will be born Nov. 16th.

The family will receive guests Monday from 2-8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Swanton Cemetery, Swancreek Township, Swanton, Ohio.
