Patrick W. Foley, Sr.

Patrick William Foley Sr., age 74, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo after complications from a recent fall. Pat was born on December 9, 1947 to the late William and Rose Mary (Wiener) Foley in Toledo Ohio. He attended Regina Coeli grade school and graduated from Start High School in 1965.

Pat met the love of his life Marie Pettit at the age of 16. They later married on July 9, 1966 at Christ the King Catholic Church. They went on to raise 6 children together. Pat was a member of Regina Coeli Church and was an active parent and supporter of his children while they also attended Regina Coeli School. He was often seen coaching his boys in football, his daughters in softball and was active with Regina's boosters. Family meant everything to Pat, he was a proud Grandpa/Papa to 15 grandchildren. During the school year he was often seen on the sidelines or in the crowd at his grandchildren's sporting events with a pocket of candy, most often orange Tic Tac's, for when the kids were done and he would tell them "Good game". He spent many hours in the car picking grandkids up from school or taking them to an extracurricular activity. You could always count on him for a ride or help when needed. During the summer Pat was proud to have the cleanest pool in West Toledo. Many family parties were spent in Papa's pool. Family, friends, food, laughter, a cold beer and the "oldies" playing on the radio were the best days of summer for Pat.

Pat worked for The Dana Corporation for many years. He then retired from Guardian Industries in Carleton, MI after 22 years. During his retirement he kept busy by making deliveries for Midport Electronics a few days a week.

Pat is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marie; children, Patrick Jr. (Julie) Foley, Tammy (Terry) Roberts, Penny (Chris) Cooker, Bill (Brandi) Foley, Brian (Andrea) Foley and Tony (Mandy) Foley; grandchildren, Moriah (Jon) Brackett and Daniela Foley, Taylor (Brad) Mills, Halee and Cassie Roberts, Jordan and Emily Cooker, Austin and Alexa Foley, Thomas, Andrew and Daniel Foley and Mason and Mackenzie Foley; great-grandson, Carter LePla and 2 great grand-babies on the way; sister, Kathy Alvarado; his K-9 companion, Cassidy who was always by his side will miss him too; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson, Michael Patrick Foley.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300).
