Patricia A. Wamer

Patricia A. "Pat" Wamer, age 74, of Millbury, passed away doing what she loved, playing tennis, on May 8, 2017. She was born on January 25, 1943 to Russell and Thelma (Reilly) Powell in Toledo. Pat was a graduate of Woodward High School in 1961. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Boise State. Pat retired from the VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor after 20 years. She was a longtime volunteer of the Friends of Lake Township Parks. Pat enjoyed playing tennis, crafting, pickleball, swimming, riding her bike and extreme fitness. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pat is survived by her soul mate and best friend of 16 years, Dick Wamer; sons, Robert (Dianna) Walsh and Michael (Tammy) Walsh; step-children, Dawn (Gary) Sartain, Donita Goeckerman and Richard (Alejandra) Wamer; grandchildren, Robert (Amy), Ryan, Randy (Jenna), Michael, Christopher, Stevie, Amanda and Megan; great-grandchildren, Kaelyn, Logan, Luke, Keagan, Brayden, Caleb, Corinne and Aliyah; sister, Kaye (John) Kunz; brother, Fred (Stella) Powell; dear cousin, Linda Burke; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive guests on Saturday from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
