Patricia Ann Szymanski
August 22, 1943 — June 26, 2021
Patricia Ann (Refi) Szymanski , age 77, of Toledo, Ohio passed away after a long battle with ovarian cancer on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Promedica Ebeid Hospice of Sylvania. She was born August 22, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Joseph and Bertha Refi. Pat graduated from Whitmer High School and went on to work in the Dental Industry retiring as a Regional Sales Assistant with Benco Dental after 45 years. She loved her 4-legged fur babies, Luna and Payton along with her Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
It would be wrong to say Pat lost her battle, because she never stopped fighting. She has taught us what resilience and perseverance truly are. Her comforting words of "It's just another hurdle, I'll get through this." Pat has always been our family's rock through life when anyone else would have broken. Pat stayed strong.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 56 years, Richard Szymanski; sons, Jim (Deanna) Szymanski, Craig (Renee) Szymanski; daughters, Cheryl (Paul) Rahe and Lynn Zachrich; grandchildren, Tyler (Emily) Szymanski, Kelsey Szymanski, Courtney Rahe, Kyle Szymanski, Andrew Rahe, Carly Szymanski, Dylan (Heather) Swartz-Zachrich, Lauren Rahe, Madison Zachrich and great grandchildren, Isabella Swartz-Zachrich and Joseph Szymanski; sisters, Marcella Duwve and Carol Wesley.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Refi and sisters, Barbara Dupre and Sharon Simon.
The family would like to thank Dr. Phibbs, his Staff and all her Chemo Nurses for all their love and support over these past 6 1/2 years. Pat would always say "They are my Angels".
The family will receive guests Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 9:30 - 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 4555 North Haven Rd. Toledo, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will begin Saturday at 10:30 am. at the church. Officiating will be Rev. Francis Speier.
If those remembering Patricia would like to make a donation in her memory, the family asks they be made to St. Jude's Children's Research or St. Catherine Siena, Toledo, Ohio.
