Patricia Szparka

Patricia R. "Sparky" Szparka, age 75, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2006 in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She was born November 24, 1930 to Frank and Helen Grezlak in Detroit, Michigan. Pat was a legal secretary with Spangler & Nathaninson for 13 years. She also worked with Russell Tuxedo and the Sylvania School System, St. Catherine School, Earl Cousino Steak House and the Flying Bridge Restaurant. For several years Pat enjoyed cooking and sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandsons.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Daniel J. "Sparky" Szparka; son, Frank (Robin) Nedom; grandchildren, Dane and Adam Nedom; brother-in-law,Elmer (Lila) Szparka; sister-in-law, Virginia (Kaz) Sokolowski, beloved friend, Joan Kovacs and many dear nieces, nephews.

The family will receive guests Thursday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with a Rosary Service beginning at 4:00 p.m. The family will also receive guests Friday from 9-10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena, 4555 Northhaven, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Gary Walters. Internment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
