Children, Timothy (Elizabeth) Sorge and Anthony (Torrie) Sorge. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as "Mam Maw Pat", Eric (Felicia) Sorge, Justin (Bailey) Sorge, Adam (Eleanor) Sorge, Ashley (Garrett) Madden, Austin Doom, Logan Sorge, Leah Sorge, Margeaux Sorge, Evelyn Sorge, Wyatt Sorge and two on the way. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn (Andrew) Brinkmoeller.
Trish is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Eileen Gearheart, sister, Sue (Daryl) Fields, her great-grandson Isaac Sorge, and two other great-grandbabies.
Denny and Trish were high school sweethearts. They graduated from Woodward High School in June of 1959. They were married on August 25th, 1962.
She has lived in the Greater Toledo area her whole life. Downtown, Point Place, Sylvania, and Toledo.
She served as clerical support staff at many places and ended her Career at Westgate Chapel with 30 years of service. In addition to working at Westgate, she was very involved in several ministries and made lifelong friendships.
Upon retirement, she loved to spend time with her friends for dinner dates. There wasn't a holiday or family event that she missed. She often enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren who always expected "sweet treats" and enjoyed hours of cuddles to their hearts' desire while watching their favorite kids shows. She was active in her Church lifegroup at Church3TwentyOne, loved Sunday services by Pastor Greg Haueter, and the Worship nights. Her most recent pastime was scrapbooking a lifetime of memories alongside her daughter-in-law and friend Elizabeth. Denny, Boo and Beau (their Aussie-Doodles whom they affectionately call "the boys") will greatly miss her snuggles.
Trish was an avid journaler, and took her own spiritual growth seriously by reading the Bible and Bible studies. She was the embodiment of Titus 2:4-8, "These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands…". She modeled submission, not by sitting idly, but by speaking her mind with grace, wisdom and peace. She was a marriage-saving role model for her children. As a young girl, she endured the hardships of growing up in an abusive home, but she did not let that define her, and went on to become a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother worthy of Proverbs 31:28, 29, "Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: 'There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!'".
