Patricia L. Krall

March 1, 1929 — September 23, 2018

Patricia Louise Krall passed away on Sunday September 23rd at Heatherdowns Rehab and Residential. She was the daughter of Donald and Louise Corathers born on March 1, 1929 in Van Wert, Ohio. Patricia was 89 years old.

She was a graduate of Davis Business College where she took secretarial courses in the late 1940's. In the years that followed, she became a legal secretary working for a number of Probate attorneys' in Downtown Toledo that would span 15 years.

She loved quilting reading, volunteering and solving crossword puzzles. Patricia enjoyed volunteering when she was able. Her volunteering efforts included lending a hand to the St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center with hospital mailings, making side dishes or desserts for her church when help was needed with funeral luncheons, becoming Secretary for Catholic War Veterans Post #639 Women's Auxiliary, she would even volunteer to help her husband Edwin, a World War II Veteran, place flags on Section 39 of Cavalry Cemetery which had 486 veterans markers at the time. Patricia and her husband helped with the decorating of the markers every year leading up to Memorial Day.

Patricia found joy in charitable giving because she liked to donate to causes that mattered to her. She felt that donating to a charity would be her way of giving continued help to someone even when she reached the point of not being physically able to go out and help anymore. Patricia will be sadly missed by those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, J.R. Corathers; her loving husband of 45 years, Edwin Frank "Midge" Krall; sisters-in-law, Irene Antoinette (Anthony) Gray, Sophia Frances Swartz, Rose Frances Schwind, and Henrietta Theresa "Cookie" (Clement) Dugan; brothers-in-law, Casimir Alphonse (AnnMarie) Krall, Chester Thomas (Caroline) Krall, Raymond Carl (Rita) Krall, Anthony Melvin (Rosemary) Krall and Norman (Bernadine) Smigielski and a few great nieces and nephews.

Patricia is survived by her son, Steven L. Krall; her brother-in-law, Stanley Gerald (Helen) Krall, sisters-in-law, Bernadine Rita (Norman) Smigielski, Patricia Marie (Carl) Kowalski and Shirley Ann (Ronald) Sabin; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She will be remembered by some as having said "When I married Midge, I gained 12 brothers-in law and 12 sisters-in-law overnight."

Patricia and her family would like to extend their thanks to the compassionate care teams of Heatherdowns Rehabilitation and Residential Care and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the concern and professionalism shown during Patricia's illness.
