Patricia J. “Busia” Kos age 93 of Toledo, Ohio passed away on July 7, 2024 at the Franciscan Care Center. She was born in Toledo on October 17, 1930 to Joseph and Rose (Matuszewski) Podbielniak. She married John Kos on October 9, 1954.
Patricia’s work history included Mercy Hospital surgical technician, Central Catholic High School as a cook in the cafeteria, Pinkerton Tobacco Factory and St. Regis Paper Company.
Pat was known for her polish cooking, baking (She won a trophy for her coffeecakes), volunteering at church and school and knitting slippers and hats for everyone. She was very proud to be the first Polka Queen in Toledo, 1952-1953.
Pat was also an active member and volunteer at the Zablocki Senior Center for 30 years. She had a gift for gab and loved having a beer.
Surviving is her children, Michael (Robin), Kathy and Kenneth; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; brother, David (Judy) Podbielniak and sisters, Barbara Rakosik and Roberta Mays. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter in-law, Michelle Kos; siblings, Joseph, Ronald and Robert Podbielniak and Dolores Ledwon.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she will be dearly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
