Patricia Gonzales, age 73, resident of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Orchard Villa Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 7, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Lester Dummitt and Vivian Bendzela.
An amazing wife, mother, and grandmother, family was her number-one priority. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren ("Neenee's precious darlings") and all of their accomplishments. She never judged anyone and accepted people for who they were. Pat had a helping hand and a big heart and was known as "everyone's best friend." Whether it was to paint, clean, or babysit, she was always there for whomever needed it. She loved going to garage sales, which she later passed onto her grandchildren. Pat also enjoyed traveling, listening to music, watching the ID channel and throwing parties for every holiday and occasion. She and her infectious laugh will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving husband, Thomas Gonzales, whom she married on December 10, 1968; children, Shelly (Robert) Buchler and Joseph (Betsy) Gonzales; grandchildren, Corrin (Daniel) Peyton, Jordan (Madison) Gonzales, Anna Gonzales, Kyle Buchler, and Kristen Buchler; great-grandchildren, Christian and Adrian Peyton, Kazley, Ezra, and Eliza Gonzales, and Jade Hawk; sister, Carla (Donald) Jackson; and brother, Gerald (Millie) Dummitt.
Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Lester Dummitt; mother and stepfather, Vivian (Louie) Bendzela; nephew Steven McCrary; and a special cousin, Della Nelson.
A heartfelt thank-you to Carla Jackson for her devotion to her sister, who had a special place in her heart, and to Pat's neighbors Judy and Cheetah for their extra care when the family could not be there.
Family and friends may gather at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday, September 11, 2021, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, where her funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm.
