Patricia Doris Pohlman

Patricia Doris "Patty" Pohlman, age 79, of Toledo, passed away July 16, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 25, 1936 in Toledo to Calvin and Sarah (Richmond) Shawley. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1954. Patty was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Perrysburg. She particularly enjoyed crafts and was an avid sports fan especially Detroit Tigers, Ohio State Football and anything that her children or grandchildren participated. Patty was very involved in the S.T.A.R.S football league serving as a cheerleader advisor. She was a great baker, especially around her favorite holiday of Christmas, making buckeyes and other sweets. Patty enjoyed feeding the finches and cardinals. A top priority was the proper raising of her children and grandchildren.

Patty is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Charles E. Pohlman, Sr.; children, Charles E. (Debra), Jr., Raymond F. (Kim) and Gwyn M. (Jay) Hart; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive guests Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). The family will also receive guests Monday, July 20, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 601 East Boundary Street, Perrysburg, Ohio, with Pastor Dennis Ditto officiating. Interment will be held at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
