Owen "Bud" Wheeler

December 23, 1946 — July 10, 2023

Owen (Bud) Wheeler, of Neapolis, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, with loved ones by his side, following a brief illness. Bud, 76, grew up in Point Place and graduated from Woodward High School. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, serving two tours as a Seabee in the United States Navy. Bud was an avid hockey fan, having played junior hockey with the North Toledo Buckeyes. He was a past member of the Roofers Local 134 and was the owner of Rembrandt Roofing. He loved his family, log home, THE Ohio State Buckeyes, and his annual fall fishing trips with family and friends to Canada. Hand him a cold Labatt Blue and he had a story to tell. He had a way of making everyone around him feel important and he will be greatly missed.

Bud was born on December 23, 1946 to Martha and Gene Wheeler Sr. in Toledo, Ohio. They preceded him in death, along with his wife of 53 years, Marcia (McWilliams) Wheeler.

He is survived by brothers, Gene (Connie) Wheeler Jr. and Ralph Wheeler; sisters-in-law, Sandy Wasielewski and Sally (Steve) McWilliams; nephews, Chris (Kathy) Wheeler, Chad (Dana) Wheeler, and Richard Wheeler; nieces, McKayla (Aaron) Philips, Amy (Keith) Yunger, and Megan (Brandon) Ostrom; special friend, Carolyn Shirey and her family. Bud came from a large family and also leaves behind many aunts and uncles who were dear to him.

Bud's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Services will be private. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
