Osie M. Snipes

Osie M. Snipes, 82, passed away on July 26, 2015. She was born on June 15, 1933 to the late Rebecca and Albert Wormely in Uniontown, Alabama.
Osie retired from Acklin Stamping Tecumseh Products after 30 years as a Press Operator. She loved traveling with her sister, Bessie Taylor. Osie enjoyed reading and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a long-time member of Southern Missionary Baptist Church and sang in the choir.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Shirley Snipes, Jeanette Stills, Mary (Alonzo) Joplin, Shonia Snipes, Terry (Dorothy) Snipes, Aletha Snipes (Tommy Russell); adopted son, Kingston Johnson; sisters, Arcola Johnson of Cleveland, OH and Bessie (James) Taylor of Toledo, OH; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Lillie Warren, Fred Thompson, Vera Reid and Annie Gillard. Osie was preceded in death by her former husband, Ananias Sr.; 2 sons, 2 grandchildren and 9 siblings.
The family would like to thank the Oncology Department at Toledo Hospital and the staff at Ebeid Hospice for their care and compassion.
The Wake Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Southern Missionary Baptist Church, 1222 Indiana Ave., Toledo. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
