Oscar A. "Os" Miehls, age 91, of Toledo, passed away at First Community Village in Columbus where he was surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 25, 1923 to Oscar J. and Anne Marie (Nevitt) Arndt in Toledo. He was raised by Harold Luke and Anne Marie Miehls after the tragic death of his father. Oscar proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army as a combat medic, uniquely serving in both the European and Asiatic-Pacific Theaters. He worked for many years as a shipping clerk, retiring form Cosco Graphics in Toledo, 1988.
Left to cherish his memory are his three sons, David (Christine), Donald (Tracy) and James (Wendy) Miehls; grandchildren, Alea, Nicole, Anne, Alex, Megan, Mary, James, Joseph and Grace; great-grandchild, Holiday; sister, Angie (Herman) Fitzgerald and brother, Gary (Cookie) Miehls. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella (Finn) Miehls in 2004.
The family will receive guests from 4-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with his Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2015 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4555 N. Haven Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43612. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
