A life well lived!
Orlando Bruno, 86, of Waterville, Ohio, passed in peace surrounded by his loved ones on May 18, 2022. Orlando Bruno, most affectionately called "Bud" was born October 18, 1935, in Toledo, Ohio, to Frank and Ruth Bruno. Bud grew up in Holland, Ohio. He had two sisters, June (Jack) Hood, Vera (Clarence) Horner, and two brothers, Irvin (Judy) Bruno and Jimmy Ledger.
Bud met the love of his life, Jacqulin Mae Taube, when she debuted in an 8th grade play, at Holland High School. They married May 19, 1956 and went on to have two sons, Gary Bruno, and Robert (Barbara) Bruno.
In 1968 he bought a 1921 Model T Ford. The family has very fond memories of being in local parades and throwing out candy. The boys remember how they would have to stand on the sideboards to lower the car enough to go into the garage at home.
Bud began his career at Toledo Mold and later he went to work for Die Cast and Mold for 35 years. Bud loved his work and the people he worked with and would still be working today had the shop not closed down. Throughout his life, Bud had a love for history, antique cars, and collecting civil war memorabilia, coins and stamps.
But most of all, Bud will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather that loved spending time with his family. He was very proud of his five grandchildren; Jennifer (Sean) Brown, Jessica (Curt) Ovall, Nicholas (Claire) Bruno, Hollie (George) Flanner and Samuel (Kara) Bruno. And nine great-grandchildren; Addison, Declan, Olivia, Maddox, Henry, Beau, Gus, Sophia and one coming any day!
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo, OH (419-392-9500) with Funeral Services beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
