It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved matriarch, courageous revolutionary, and loving grandmother, Olga Goodwin. She departed from this world on April 16, 2024 at the age of 87.
Born in Santa Clara, Cuba on April 22, 1936, Olga lived a life defined by resilience, compassion, and unwavering dedication to justice. Raised amidst the tumult of the Cuban Revolution, she learned early on the value of standing up for what is right and fighting against oppression.
Olga was not only a caretaker but a beacon of strength for her family, raising not only her children but also her grandchildren with boundless love and selflessness. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and love, where she shared her culinary talents, especially her famous Cuban dishes, and her wisdom with all who crossed her threshold.
A woman of extraordinary courage, Olga dedicated her life to fighting for the rights of the marginalized and the oppressed. Her activism and advocacy made a lasting impact, inspiring others to join her in the pursuit of justice and equality. Her fearlessness in the face of adversity served as a guiding light for those around her, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Despite her revolutionary spirit, Olga was also known for her boundless compassion and generosity. She never hesitated to offer a helping hand to those in need, always putting the well-being of others before her own.
Olga is survived by her loving family, who will continue to cherish her memory and carry forward her legacy of courage, compassion, and unwavering determination. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her love and her indomitable spirit.

Morgan; grandchildren, Janet Alvarez, Lorayne Fournier, Beatriz Ibarra, Pedro Negrin, Lazaro Mayor, Antonio Negrin, Saray Pratt, and Alexander Negrin; great grandchildren, Destiny G., Jazmine G., Jonathan A., Jessica A., Jocelyn A., Leslie F., Armani F., Carlos F., Lisette F., Christian I., Xavier I., Sebastian James I., Nathalia A., Olga M., Antonio N. II, and Azamaree P.; and a great great grandson, Lorenzo F.
Olga was preceded in death by her father, Juan Bautista Rodriguez; mother, Maria C. Rodriguez; great nephew, Johnny Clarke, and beloved husband, James Goodwin.
