Norman V. Wonser

Norman V. "Norm" Wonser, age 79, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 23, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He passed away at his daughter, Sheila's home where he had been staying. Norm was born on February 17, 1934 to Victor and Margaret (Weot) Wonser in Toledo. He has been a South Ft. Myers, FL resident for 24 years. Norm graduated from Macomber High School and was a member of the Pattern Makers Union. While in Florida, Norm enjoyed it when all the family would visit. They would go on long walks on the beach, collected shells and made lots of sand castles with the little ones. Norm enjoyed feeding the fish and turtles daily at the lake behind his condo. He also liked genealogy, doing crosswords; jig saw puzzles, playing cards and dominos. Norm enjoyed the time spent with all of his friends at the mall walk and condo. He always looked forward to having lunch with his friends in Florida and Toledo. Norm also use to volunteer at Health Park Hospital and Lake Park in Florida. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Norm is survived by his loving wife, Patt; they would have celebrated 56 years of marriage on November 9; sons, Denny Wonser and Kevin (Beth) Wonser; daughters, Sheila (Dan) Borowski and Vikki (Jim) Bucher; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Karen (Jack) Barror; brother-in-law, Jerry (Joan) Ryan; and many other family members and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Taylor and brother, Kenneth Wonser.

The family will receive guests on Saturday from 3 – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the staff and caregivers at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for all of their love, care and support given to Norm and his family through this difficult time.
