Norman P. Yard, Jr.

Norman P. Yard, Jr., age 63, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, June 29th, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born July 30th, 1947 to Norman P. and Betty L. (Carlin) Yard, Sr. in Toledo. Norman served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. He went on to service in the Air National Guard for an additional 26 years before retiring as a Master Sergeant. Following his Military Career, Norman began to work with Hickory Farms in Computer Operations. He was a lifetime member of VFW #606 and the Maumee Eagles. Norman was also a member of the Afterburners Retirement Group, where he served as Secretary. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather, cherishing the times spent with his family, especially his adoring grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his sisters, Bonnie Hulit and Paula Molnar-Fels. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Pamela D. (Shine) Yard; daughter, Christine Yard; son, Norman P. (Carrie) Yard, III; grandchildren, Christopher and Christina, Alison, Brady and Morgan; sisters, Gloria Liegel and Frankie (Terry) Nygard and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
