Norman J. Wallace, "Wally", Toledo, Ohio, age 87, received the ultimate healing March 11, 2016 when he answered the call from heaven, after declining health. Norman was born June 23, 1928, to William and Florence Wallace from Norwalk, Connecticut.
Wally retired from Roadway Express after thirty-five years. His life revolved around his grandchildren: Cierra, Spencer, Ashlyn, and Jacob Wallace. He loved watching them when they were young, and took pride and joy in their activities as they grew up. In addition to his family, Wally had many friends from the churches he attended. He drove bus routes for church folk, repaired busses and cars, ran kids to church camp, and served as usher, deacon and sound tech. When he was not working, he cared for his garden. When Wally and Betty Lou married fifty years ago, they found wedded bliss was harder than they thought, and knew they needed help. Surrendering their lives to God was the answer, and Wally became a humble, gentle husband and father.
Wally leaves behind the wife he adored, BettyLou, and his two sons, James (Donna Kaye) from Bozeman, Montana, and Mark (Jennifer) from Toledo, Ohio; as well as daughter, Donna Wallace Strout (John and family) of New Canaan, Connecticut, and nieces. Wally joins in heaven his mother, father, brother Bill; sister-in-law, Marie; and son Wayne.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 10-11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900).
