Norma Jean "Dean" Lawson, age 78, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 surrounded by her loving family at her daughters residence after a courageous battle with a heart condition. She was born September 3, 1932 to Hazel G. and Edna Barbara (Anderson) Peace in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Norma loved to play bingo anytime she had the opportunity and also card games with her grandchildren, some of her favorites being, Phase Ten, UNO and Skip-Bo. She enjoyed cooking and her family will cherish the memories of all the delicious meals she prepared for them. Her family will remember that every Christmas season, Norma looked forward to playing "Santa" to all of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (George) May, Ed (Cathy) Lawson, Dick (Sharon) Lawson, Jerry Lawson, Debbie Moyer and daughter-in-law Gloria Lawson; grandchildren, Tracy (Daniel) Bone, Ronnie Winkelman, Misty (Don) Ayers, Brent (Vanessa) Lawson, Brook (Rick) Sowell, Ryan Lawson, Tiffany (Steve) Julius, Bridgett (Matthew) Crots, Lindsey and Morgan Lawson, Michael (Amanda) Krouse, Renee Moyer, Christopher (Jen) Lawson, Becky (Treg) Getzinger and Jenny Lawson; great-grandchildren, Addie, Allison, Andrew, Caitlin, Johnny, James, Andrew, Casandra, Ricky, Paige, Hailey, Grant, Carter, Ben, Hannah, Drew and Haley; siblings, Mary Hall, Polly Hatmaker and Sherry Archer. Preceding her in death are her parents; son, John "Larry" Lawson; siblings, Glenn and Joe Peace, Pat Sumner, her twin-sister Imogene Peace, Jimmy Peace and infant sister Cordilia Peace.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
