Norbert F. "Corky" Konwin, age 77, passes away Friday, March 24, 2006 at Foundation Park Care Center after a long illness. He was born on September 6, 1928 in Toledo. Corky worked for many years at Chase Bag Company as plant superintendent and after retirement, at the Toledo Museum of Art as a security guard. He enjoyed traveling to Mackinaw with his family, rebuilding old Volkswagens, golf, playing cards and going to the horse races. Corky especially enjoyed attending all of his grandson's athletic events and going "bumming" with him.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Betty Jane (Brown); daughter: Pam Rumpf; grandson: Christopher Rumpf; and sister: Mary Hausman, all of Toledo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Helen Konwinski. Loved by many others too, was he.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Newcomer Funeral Home (419-473-0300). There will be no services, but a gathering will be held at the family home on Sunday April 2nd at 2:00 p.m. for family and friends who would like to join in the celebration of his life.
