Nina M. Patton

Nina M. Patton, 102, of Toledo, OH, peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on September 10, 2024. 

Nina was the beloved daughter of the late Chancy and Audra (Spangler) Conrad. Born in Delta, OH, in 1921, she grew up on her parents’ farm near Lyons. A dedicated student, Nina was active in the Glee Club and 4-H, graduating from Lyons High School in 1940. After graduation, Nina moved to Toledo to work and attend Davis Business College part-time. In 1944, she married Robert Patton from Lima, OH. Tragically, Robert passed away from a heart attack in 1949. A testament to her resilience, Nina then devoted herself to raising their two young daughters and continued to work, eventually retiring after 30 years of service with Jeep. Nina took pride in the home she and Robert built, tending to her yard until she was 99. 

Her adventurous spirit led her to travels in India, Brazil, and Alaska. Her faith in the Lord began in childhood, and she was a lifelong member of Toledo Gospel Tabernacle (Westgate Chapel). 

She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Nelson; brother, Duane Conrad of Metamora, OH; sister, Maxine Mabee of Jasper, MI; grandchildren Milissa (Guy) Kimball, Eric (Molly) Uliczny, and Michelle (John) Van Norman; great-grandchildren Sam, Ethan, Eliza, Anna, Caroline, and Adeline; and many nieces, nephews, and her dear friend Sandy Holtz. A special thank you goes to her caring neighbors, Fred and Maria and Chuck and Carol.

Nina was preceded in death by husband, Robert Patton; daughter, Diana Moore; sisters Marie Weaver and Marjorie Allwood; and brothers Raleigh, Earl, and Lawrence Conrad. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Westgate Chapel.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Nina’s life with a visitation on September 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Both events will be held at Westgate Chapel, located at 2500 Wilford Drive, Toledo, Ohio.
