Nina Pearl Norek "Granny", age 79, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 15, 1943, in Muhlenberg, Kentucky, to the late Roland and Mary (Knight) Wagoner.
Nina, affectionately known as Granny, had the softest heart. She was a giver, making sure everyone was fed and taken care of and always put other's needs before her own. She was a devout born again Christian and she greatly enjoyed listening to gospel music. She was involved in many church ministries through the years and counted it a privilege to serve the Lord and others. With the big heart that she had, she always saw the good in people. Granny will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving children, Jeffery (Lori) Wagoner, Julie (Ron) Lynch, Becky (Kevin) Nowak, Gina (Matt) Wilson; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Rose Sandlin, Ruby Stewart, and Mary Cain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William "Bill" Miller; second husband, Richard "Dick" Norek; grandson, John Burns; and siblings, Shelby Wagoner, David Wagoner, Loraine (Nean) Wills, Walter Wagoner, and Charles Wagoner.
Family and friends may visit at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3655 King Road, Toledo, Ohio 43617, on Monday, March 21, 2022, from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at the funeral home, at 10:00 am, with Pastor Tony Mills officiating. Nina will be laid to rest at Forest Cemetery in Toledo.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lewis Avenue Baptist Church, 6320 Lewis Ave, Temperance, MI 48182.
