Nick E. Hensley

Nick E. Hensley, 62, of Whitehouse, Ohio, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born on December 23, 1959 in Logan, WV to Claude and Donna (nee Smith) Hensley. They moved to Whitehouse, Ohio in 1967 where he still resided. He was a 1977 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School. Nick was a hardworking, free-spirited, loving person. He began singing as a young boy with his family in church. He was an amazing bass player, and his high tenor voice completed the "Hensley Harmony". Many people were shocked by his deep speaking voice, singing such high tenor. Later, the family formed a bluegrass band, "The Flatland Grass". They traveled and performed all over, including Europe. They recorded two albums and performed for many years. After the death of his father, Nick, Neal and Ted could be heard singing acapella for anyone. He loved traveling, his Harley, bluegrass festivals and his family. Nick was a loving father and grandfather. He loved his grandkids, and they all love their "Papaw". He was so proud of all of them.

Cherished son of Donna Hensley, she will miss her daily calls. Beloved father of, Jaime (Kyle) Knapp, Savannah Hensley, Lucas Hensley, Shayla (Lina) Castillo. Adored Papaw of, Gage, Emma, Kennedy Knapp, Serinity Hensley, Greyson Johnson, Ava Goss, Holly and Heidi Hensley, Emmarie, Wyatt and Harper Castillo. Treasured brother of Neal (Kyle) Hensley, Ted Hensley, Sonia (Jamie) Mullins, Donya (Joe) LeTourneau. Numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who loved him whole-heartedly. He is preceded in death by his father Claude Hensley, his brother Ernie Hensley. Maternal and paternal grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved German Shepherd, "Blue". He will be greatly missed by family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, any memorial contributions can be made out to Nick's daughter Savannah, to assist in funeral expenses.

As per his wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held in Nick's honor on Friday, December 16, 2022 at The Bunker Hall at 1950 S. Eber Rd. Holland, OH 43528 from 3-8:00PM.
