Ned G. Parker, age 75, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, December 26th, 2009 at his home. He was born December 4th, 1934 to Kenneth and Esther (Schmunk) in Defiance, Ohio. Ned owned and operated Parker Electric for more than 40 years. He enjoyed bowling and more recently was an enthusiastic Nascar fan. Ned and his wife, Shirley also enjoyed camping, spending the last 30 years camping at Big Sandy, where they made many lasting friendships and memories. Ned was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather cherishing time spent with his family.
In addition to his parents, Ned was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Shirley J. (Miller)Parker; daughters, Sherry (Rob) Meade and Pam (Pete) Perkins; grandchildren, Jeanean "Beep" (Matt) King; Garrick G. Gray and Gina Gray; great grandchildren, Jaylen; Tyson and Tialyn King; step grandchildren, Dan (Megan)Perkins; Joe (Jessie) Perkins and Andrea (Andrew) Barron; step great granddaughters, Autumn and Ava Barron; sisters, Janet; Nancy and Dawn; brothers, Chuck; Bernie and Danny and many nieces, nephews; extended family members and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry S. Craig. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
