Nannette F. Ward, age 69, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 2, 2009 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 18, 1939 to Julian and Lizzie Mae Fulmer in Sumter, South Carolina. Nannette was a native of South Carolina, a longtime resident of Minnesota and most recently of Toledo. She had lifetime involvement in and support of world missions and intercessory prayer ministries. Nannette was a wonderful cook and enjoyed business and mission travel with her husband. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Nannette is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dick Ward; son, David (Lisa) Ward; daughter, Nancy Lee Ward; grandchildren, Austin and Abbey; sister, Jeanie (Jimmie) Williams; and brother-in-law, Frank Singleton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jackie Singleton.
The family will receive guests on Sunday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 5240 Talmadge Rd., Toledo from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. with Funeral Services beginning at 4:00 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Joseph Keblesh, Jr.. There will also be a visitation Tuesday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home, 221 Broad St., Sumter, SC from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with Funeral Services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Sumter, SC.
