Nancy Gilmore passed away peacefully on December 5, 2021 at her home at Waterford in Perrysburg, Ohio, at the age of 97. Nancy was born in Toledo on June 6, 1924. She graduated from Scott High School and then attended the University of Michigan before proudly serving in the Navy WAVES during WWII. Nancy lived in Santa Rosa, CA, and in Scottsdale, AZ, prior to returning to the Toledo area in 2004.
She is survived by her loving cousin, Cynthia Rimmelin, who helped care for her the past many years, along with the Rimmelin family, Brock, Dodie, Michele, and Elizabeth. She is also survived by cousin, Constance Becker, niece, Carol Atzenhover, and nephews, Doug Cox and Larry Cox. She was predeceased by her parents Helen Rohr Tait and Harold Tait; sister, Phyllis Cox; husbands, Theodore Schraishuhn and William Gilmore, and her beloved son, Richard Schraishuhn. Nancy was especially proud of son, Rick, who became a successful architect in San Francisco.
Donations in Nancy's memory can be made to the Nancy Gilmore Art Scholarship at the University of Toledo.
A graveside service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
