Nancy L. Monroe

Nancy L. Monroe, age 88, of Toledo, Ohio was welcomed into her Heavenly home on November 1, 2023. She was born on January 28, 1935, the daughter of the late Howard and Fannie (Bruhl) Leffel. Nancy attended Bedford High School and proudly acquired her GED on May 17, 1987. She then went on to work at the Lion Store as a sales associate for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. Nancy was a longtime member of the Church of Christ, attending various churches in various cities throughout her life. She loved the beach and the state of Florida, relocating there with her husband, Don, in 1990, and returning to Toledo in 2022. Nancy loved animals, she was particularly fond of her cats, and was an avid supporter of the ASPCA.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don Monroe; and brothers, Howard and Richad Leffel. She is survived by her sons, Don Monroe and Ron Monroe; grandchildren, Craig (Bonnie) Monroe, Taylor Lusby, Ashlee (Corey) Robinson, Branden Monroe, and Cierra Monroe; great-grandchildren, Amanda Ries, Jason Bonds, Hunter Smith, Chanel Robinson, Dominic Robinson, Brayden Starnes, Ethan Starnes, Lancen Starnes, and Kaiden Starnes; great-great-grandchildren, Adrian Bonds, Emma Ries, Avery Smith, and Charles Bonds; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. Toledo, where a Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 pm.
