The family of Nancy Lynn Teal mourns her passing, but also celebrates the energy and joy that she brought to the lives of so many. Nancy embraced life, taking joy in spending time with her friends and family at every opportunity. After raising four children, Nancy found new friends and experiences in a passion for sailing that she shared with her husband of 50 years, David James Teal. As a member of the Huron Sailing Club, Nancy made wonderful memories, during the excitement of racing their 31 foot sail boat, the "Blue Wing" in races like the Mills Race, and during casual cruises with friends and family.
Nancy worked for 20 years as a Sterile Processing technician at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, leaving many friends there when she retired in 2006. After battling and defeating breast cancer in 2008, Nancy focused her attention on her family and friends, as well as on making her home in Elmore a beautiful gathering place. Nancy shared her love of the outdoors by gardening and bird watching, with a special affinity for hummingbirds.
Friends and family will remember her best as the "life of the party" always ready to laugh and make lasting memories with those whom she loved. Those who loved her are so blessed to have been able to make memories with Nancy in June of 2009, when over 150 of her loved ones joined her to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary with the love of her life, David.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and ClaraMae "Susie" Zattau. Nancy leaves her husband, David James Teal, to cherish her memory in addition to her children, Katherine (Michael) Coble; Douglas (Marsha) Teal; Constance Teal and Elizabeth (Andrew) Kohler. Also surviving are her brothers, Robert (Bette) Zattau and Michael (Mary Ann) Zattau, along with 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and her beautiful Burmese cat "Pyewacket".
