Nancy Ann (Szarlip) Benne

Nancy Ann Benne, age 68, a longtime resident of Toledo, passed away from Pulmonary Fibrosis, Wednesday, July 20th, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born August 22nd, 1942 to Marion "Mike" and Mary (Cordrey) Szarlip in Toledo. Nancy was a 1960 graduate of Woodward High School. She went on to attend the University of Toledo, graduating with a degree in X-Ray Technology. She also made her career as a Legal Secretary, retiring from Anspach Meeks Ellenberger, LLP. Nancy was a creative and talented person, singing, acting, dancing and playing guitar. Her love for animals motivated her to support several humane societies and animal rescue organizations.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her infant son, Jeffrey Copic. She is survived by her sisters, Carroll McCune and Lavonna Bittner; niece, Ceary Schmidt; nephew, Gregory (Donna) Schmidt and their children, David and Fiona; grandnephew, Jeren Kutcher; grandniece, Sydney Kutcher; close family friends, Larry and Maureen Jacobsen and their children, Linsi and Joe. Also surviving are a special lifelong group of friends who call themselves "The Posse", Judy Frankel, Molena Pantenberg, Rosie Schmitz and Janice Manning (deceased), in addition to many loving family members and friends.

Guests are invited to join the family Wednesday, July 27th, 2011 for a Graveside Service at Lake Township Cemetery, Milbury, OH, beginning at
11:00 a.m.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Wood County Humane Society or P.E.T.A.

Directions to Lake Township Cemetery: I-280 Exit #4, to Walbridge Exit #4. The cemetery is at the corner of Lemoyne and Walbridge Roads in Milbury, Ohio.
