Myra E. Schwab, age 68, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, July 11th, 2009 at her home in the care of her family and Hospice of Northwest Ohio, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 2, 1940 to Carl and Mary Dorothy (Connie) Buckland in Ottawa, Ohio. Myra graduated from Ottawa High School and went on to attend and graduate from Carnegie College in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Clement Church, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Love and Prayers Group. Myra was also active in Bible Study, a Eucharistic Minister, and assisted with Crusillo. Most importantly Myra was a proud and loving mother and grandmother, cherishing the time she was able to spend with her family.
In addition to her parents, Myra was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Steven Schwab and sister, Wilma DaPore. Myra is survived by her children, Stephanie (David) Redmond; Bradley (Nicki) Schwab; Barton (Vicky) Schwab and Mary (Donald) McLeod; siblings, Cindy Utrup; Jenny Eldridge; Steven Buckland and Lisa Stevens; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and special sister-in-law, Suzanne Clouse and many dear friends.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd. Officiating will be Fr. Ed Littelmann. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
