Muriel Stubleski, age 84, of Temperance, Michigan, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 in the Ebeid Hospice Residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 10, 1928 in Rathfriland, Ireland to Samuel and Emily Wilson. Muriel married Leonard Stubleski August 4, 1945 in Ireland and came to the U.S. on the S.S. Gibbins as a "war bride." She was employed as the head cook at GM Powertrain for over 20 years. Muriel was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Temperance, Michigan. She enjoyed knitting (Project Help), crocheting, Irish stitching, embroidering and reading.
Left to cherish her memory is her children, Terrence Stubleski, Donald (Sandra) Stubleski, Helena Leininger, Russell (Cheryl) Stubleski and Keith (Paula) Stubleski; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and many brothers and sisters in Ireland and England. In addition to her parents and husband, Leonard, Muriel was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Stubleski and daughters, Cheryl Laughlin, Denise Stubleski and June Stubleski.
The family will receive guests Monday, September 24, 2012 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Temperance, Michigan.
The family would like to thank the ICU department at Toledo Hospital and the staff at Ebeid Hospice for their loving care of Muriel.
