Morris Frenzell passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 13, 2014 at the Ebeid Hospice Residence. He was born in 1921 to Alphonse A. and Clara Vogelpohl Frenzel in Bellville, Texas. He was the second of their four sons. World War II broke out while he was attending college in Houston and he enlisted in the Navy. He was stationed in Toledo for training at the Great Lakes Naval Base. While there he met his wife, Joan Varner. He served on ships in the South Pacific and was honorably discharged after the war with the rank of Chief Yeoman.
They settled in Toledo after the war, later building a home in Lambertville, Michigan where they raised four children.
He attended Case Western Reserve University and was employed during his long career as a production control manager at AO Smith, Brush Beryllium, Bingham Stamping and Baron Steel. He retired after 20 years in the steel business in 1985. He and Joan enjoyed travel to Florida for the winters until her death in 1996. Morris enjoyed fishing with his sons and visits from his grandchildren. His children will always remember his steady habits, good sense and dependability.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joan, his brothers, Norman and Howard and grandson, Christopher Gaudaen.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Linda (Michael) Gaudaen, Michael, John and James, his grandchildren, Michael Gaudaen Jr., Faith Gaudaen, Melanie (Adam) Tuttle, Brian Frenzell and AnnMarie Frenzell; and great-grandchildren Christopher and Sarah Gaudaen and Brady and Amelia Tuttle. He is also survived by his brother, Harold Frenzel who lives in Texas.
Private funeral services were held on December 17, 2014 with entombment taking place at Toledo Memorial Park.
