Monroe Holloway Bailey passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 20, 2017 at University of Toledo Medical Center. Monroe was born July 31, 1961 in Toledo to the late Goldie Bailey.
Monroe attended McCord Road Christian Church. He was a loyal member of the AA (120 days of sobriety), Team Recovery FAAD and The Arrowhead Alumni. Cooking for family and friends was Monroe's passion. He loved golfing with his golf buddies and tending to his yard. Monroe was the backbone of his family. Being supportive and having a big heart, Monroe listened to anyone's problems, gave good advice, and took in anyone that was in need.
Left to cherish Monroe's memory is his loving wife of 19 years, Ginger; children, Megan (Mitchell) Moore, Christopher Bailey and Desirae Burrows; sisters, Tina (Paul) Gray, Dora Johnson and Mary Jane (Robert) Morrissey, sister-In-Law, Cathy (Thomas) Cross-Czartoryski; grandchildren, Arin, Logan, Mitchell Jr., Seth, Sommer, Gabie, Cobain and Tina; nieces, Ashley Narewski and Debbie Rarick, Sabrina Rarick; nephews, Travis (Sara) Narewski, Paul Gray II, Lincoln Marx and James Cross; best friend, Jim "JimBo" (Karen) Burkhart and many more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Monroe in death is his grandmother, Alice Gardener; brother, John Wampler; father-in-law, Thomas Baker; good friend, Douglas Zuelke
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, for the wonderful care they gave Monroe, at University of Toledo Medical Center.
The family will receive guests Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419 381 1900). Services will begin Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
