Monica Hinckley, age 83, resident of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021. She was born on February 9, 1938, in Jackson, Michigan, to the late Albert and Dorothy (Schoch) Wilczak.
Monica had worked with her husband at their Nationwide Insurance agency, until they both retired in 2000. A woman of faith, she was a member of Little Flower Church in Toledo, where she had volunteered with numerous church activities. Monica enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid euchre player, playing in many tournaments. She loved watching her Detroit Tigers baseball team, rarely missing a game. She also enjoyed NASCAR; a fan of Martin Truex, Jr. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband. They would visit casinos across the country, and also travel to see their children and grandchildren. Family meant the world to her. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her children, Denise (Michael) Wallace, Scott (Elizabeth) Hinckley, Paul (Shaela) Hinckley, and Cynthia (Steven) Fouss; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a brother, Alan Wilczak. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, David Milo Hinckley, whom she married on September 8, 1962.
Family and friends may gather at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3655 King Road, Toledo, Ohio 43617, on Thursday, March 18, 2021, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, where a memorial service will take place at 4:00 pm, with Father Dave Nuss officiating. For those who are unable to make the service, the service will be available on the website following the service. For the safety of the Hinckley family and their guests, masks are required along with social distancing.
