Mona M. Eckhardt

Mona M. Eckhardt, age 75, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 30, 1932 to William and Ruby Johnson in Toledo. Mona was the owner and operator of Mona Lisa Salon for 20 years before retiring in 1982. She was a longtime member of the Sylvania Moose Lodge. Mona loved ceramics, playing the guitar, singing and to dance, especially tap dancing. Mona often enjoyed taking trips and traveling with her husband in their motor home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers. Mona is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Alton J. "Archie" Eckhardt; daughter, Regina (Loren) Carpenter; son, Alton J. "Jim" (Wendy) Eckhardt; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Beulah Newman, Alice Guy and Regina Cook.

A Memorial Service to honor Mona's memory will be held Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Calvary Bible Chapel, 3740 W. Alexis Rd., at 2:00 p.m. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
