Mitzi C. Nowakowski

Mitzi C. Nowakowski, 60, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at home. She was born on April 13, 1954 to Glenn and Marian Stewart in Toledo.

Mitzi attended Burroughs Elementary School and graduated from E.L. Bowsher High School in 1972. She married Gary Nowakowski on June 22, 1974 and he has preceded her in death. Mitzi was employed with Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 15 years. She retired from Internet Payment Exchange in 2013 after 25 years of service.

Mitzi was preceded in death by her mother, Marian Stewart. She is survived by her father, Glenn Stewart; loving sons, Brandon (Brandy) and Brent (Mallorie); loving grandchildren who were very special to her, Andrew, Tony, Carter, Taylor; sisters, Vickie (Michael) Thompson and their children, Casey (Dennis) Kennedy, Danielle (Mark) Wilhelm; brother, Jeffery Stewart and his children, Jason, Damian, Laura and Evan; great-nieces, Harper and Reese; several aunts and many cousins and friends.

The family will receive guests from 5-8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015 and Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 10-11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
